Creating home goods and accessories by hand, just like my mom did.

  • Crafted by Hand

I grew up in a time when we made what we didn't have.  It is with this same sense of practicality and purpose that I make for Wooly Tops.  Everything we sell is handmade here in my Newfoundland studio. While I am the principal maker, I have a part time assistant and my daughter keeps things relevant with her fabric illustrations and project ideas.

  • Natural Fibers

I aim to be responsible in my choices of fabrics and yarns. I prefer natural fibers sourced from sustainable and caring producers. What I make is often determined by the materials I have on hand. I try to incorporate all my leftover fiber bits when making new products; a very satisfying and rewarding process for me.

  • Small Batch

Everything we make is individually crafted with care and attention to detail. This means our production is a slow and meaningful process but it's a process that just feels rights for me. It is connected to my childhood when things seemed more sensible and calm, a time when we used everything we had and little or nothing was wasted.

Meet the Maker

Hi, I'm Lori. I grew up in a time when we made what we didn’t have. While my family didn’t have a lot of money, I was surrounded by creative and industrious people who knew how to make ends meet.
