Special Order A Willum Quilt

Our Willum Quilt is a modern take on a traditional Newfoundland quilt. It is both a customer favourite and something I love to make. Because each quilt is lovingly hand-crafted in my studio, they take time to create. That means they’re not usually a "ready-to-ship" item, and are often sold out.

A special order lets you reserve a spot on my sewing table so we can create a Willum quilt, just for you or someone you love. 

How It Works

1. Submit an Inquiry: Fill out the form below with your information and what it is you are looking for. (Size of quilt, medium or small squares, etc.)
2. Personal Quote and Timeline: I will send you a quote for your Willum Quilt, along with an estimated timeline for when it will be completed. 
3. Reserve Your Quilt: To reserve your spot on my sewing table, a 25% deposit is required. The deposit will be dependant upon the quote provided. In the instance that we are working on other orders, we won't ask for your deposit until we're ready to start working on your quilt.
4. Handcrafted and Ready for a New Home: We will get to work and create your specially-ordered Willum Quilt, just for you! Once it is ready, we will contact you for the final payment, and prepare your order for shipment/pickup. 

What You Can Customize

• Size: While I do not make bedspread-sized quilts, there are a few different size options I offer. These include: 36 x 36, 44 x 70, 60 x 80, etc. We are also able to do custom sizes upon request.
• Colours: What makes a quilt a Willum is the unique combination of colourful squares paired with white squares, often including reds, blues, yellows, and greens. If you are interested in a certain colour palette, please let me know in your inquiry, and we can discuss if it is possible. Quilts with custom fabric selection may come at an additional cost.

Timeline

Each piece is hand cut and individually sewn in a random pattern of colour and white blocks, ensuring that each item is a ‘one of a kind’ creation. By using these small scraps of fabric, it's a slow, rewarding, and sensible process to create something useful. 

A Willum Quilt can take anywhere between 8-12 weeks to create and depending upon the waitlist. On the occasion we have a multiple orders going at a time (especially near the holidays), the timeline could be even longer. If you are in need of a quilt for a specific time frame, please note this in your inquiry.

*Please note as of November 2025, we are no longer taking quilt orders to be completed before Christmas. 

Pricing

Specially ordered Willum quilts begin at $400 and go up from there dependant upon the size of the quilt, size of squares, colour requests and specific timelines. (These prices are all subject to taxes and additional shipping costs where applicable.)

Every quilt I make is a labor of love. I use high-quality, natural fibre fabrics and time-honoured stitching techniques I learned from my grandmother and mom, so your quilt can be cherished for years to come.
